Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph the Strathdee Group for a series of updated headshots and a group portrait on Capitol Hill. The U.S. Capitol is one of Washington, DC’s most recognizable landmarks, and it makes a striking backdrop for professional portraits. It’s especially fitting for organizations focused on advocacy or firms doing political consulting, like Strathdee.

Due to rules about photographing on federal property, taking pictures at the Capitol isn’t as straightforward as it looks, especially if you’re with a group and using professional lighting equipment. For this session, I needed to secure a permit ($150) from the U.S. Capitol Police to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day of the shoot.
If you’re looking for corporate headshots or staff group portraits in front of the U.S. Capitol, be sure to reach out early so I can take care of all the permitting and logistics!
